PREMIERE: Fantomen Unleash “Goin’ Out West” On Unsuspecting Atlanta Natives Wed. March 22nd…
From the Daili Column & In Association with The Fuzz Firm, Boggs Blogs Presents Fantomen:
Fantomen, established in 2016, was forged in the pits of the Atlanta dive bar scene. For three years, Fantomen established its reputation as a top-notch live act with a unique mixture of heaviness, hooks, and heart. Following a pandemic-induced hiatus, Fantomen returns with recordings of the best songs from its well-loved live shows.
The first of three new tracks recorded, mixed, and mastered by Kris Sampson (The B-52s, The Buzzards of Fuzz, The Coathangers), is a gripping rendition of Tom Waits‘ “Goin’ Out West”. A signature track, Fantomen dashes this treasure by the almighty Tom Waits into pieces, conjuring out of the remnants a grisly, supercharged performance that incites equal parts love and violence. The track will be available on all streaming platforms, on March 22nd.
Fantomen’s unabashed skulls-will-roll stoner rock will be sure to get you off the couch and in front of the stage, drink in-hand. And, when you are ready to make that leap after your melodic lobotomy, you and a horde of live music-famished friends can snag tickets to their upcoming show at Boggs Social & Supply on Thursday, March 23rd when legendary surf maniacs DAIKAIJU return to Atlanta with special guests El Capitan & The Reluctant Sadists!
