The first album was free for download on a\nwebsite most OG fans found in the credits of a random Sealab episode. After five\nyears of working for Cartoon Network during the day and making mc chris music at\nnight\, mc took a chance\, quit his job\, and headed out on the road. He found packed\nvenues filled with nerdy kids who knew all the words. Twenty years later\, he’s still at\nit\, playing the same venues\, singing along with the same kids\, who are now in their\nthirties. The only difference is now they’ve either brought their kids or given\nthemselves a much-needed night off. This year MC celebrates 25 years in existence\nand a new Marvel inspired album\, King in Black. \nmc chris is most widely known for his reoccurring character MC P Pants on Adult\nSwim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force where he was also an animator and writer. He’s\nbeen featured in the Aqua Teen movie\, the video game and most recently on a\nseries of You Tube videos called Aqua Donk Side Pieces. He’s also starred on\nseveral Adult Swim series including The Brak Show and Sealab 2021. A pioneer of\nthe hip hop subgenre Nerdcore\, mc chris has worked with Talib Kweli\, Andrew WK\,\nand Donald Glover. His fans include the likes of Gerard Way\, Post Malone and T-\nPain and he was even sampled by Run the Jewels for the latest Aqua Teen movie\nPlantasm. He’s toured with Reggie and Full Effect\, and Ninja Sex Party\, performed\non the Warped Tour and The Gathering of the Juggalos\, appeared on a GWAR\nalbum\, and even had his own Honda commercial. You truly never know where he’s\ngoing to pop up. \nHe’s a full-time single father to his son\, Tony\, and lives in Los Angeles.

Their records\, including Empress Rising\, Vænir\, Rust\, and No Comfort\, cemented their reputation for blending crushing fuzz with melodic undercurrents and immersive repetition. Now one of heavy music’s most consistent and beloved bands\, Monolord are gearing up for their next chapter with a new album arriving in 2026—produced by legendary engineer Sylvia Massy and released via Relapse Records. \nKhemmis \nAfter eleven years of releasing albums and touring the world\, Colorado’s Khemmis have become a pillar of the modern metal scene. \n“When we started this band\, we had no expectations\, no assumptions—we just wanted to play heavy metal\,” says guitarist/vocalist Ben Hutcherson. “The older I get\, the more I appreciate how rare it is in life to have relationships that last this long and offer a sense of stability and reassurance in a world that increasingly is horrifying and unsuitable for human life. And so\, in many ways\, this band is a home.” \nSome artists strive for a legacy; Khemmis felt born with one. Upon releasing their 2015 debut Absolution\, the Denver-based four-piece felt like old souls whose towering\, spiritual doom metal connected with metalheads the world over. This was further cemented by 2016’s Hunted\, which won the band international acclaim and was declared Album Of The Year by Decibel. 2018’s rollicking Desolation\, 2020’s devotional Doomed Heavy Metal MLP (featuring a fan-favorite cover of Dio’s “Rainbow In the Dark”) and 2021’s searing Deceiver only reinforced the band’s monolithic sound and diehard following. \nIt makes sense\, then\, that the Khemmis behind Khemmis–—Hutcherson\, fellow vocalist/guitarist Phil Pendergast\, drummer Zach Coleman\, and newly-appointed bassist David Small—is different in many ways. While the band has often felt synonymous with the Denver metal scene\, Pendergast and Coleman have since moved away to Washington and North Carolina respectively. \nAnd yet\, Khemmis today feel more like the band they’ve always wanted to be than ever before. They believe not only in the power of the music they’re making\, but their bandmates’ ability to make it with them. \n“We have so much trust in each other\,” says Pendergast. “Me and Zach moving away\, in some ways\, actually strengthened that\, cause it’s kind of proven to ourselves that when we get back together\, we can trust each other to do what we need to do.
